Calibrating the 4500
The 4500 and 4550 have calibration controls for each color, ranging
from the least color density (-5) to the most (+5). This control
is accessed from the printers control panel. Press the right side
of the menu button repeatedly until “Calibration Menu”
comes up. Next, press the right side of the item button repeatedly
until the colors and calibrations begin to appear, such as C = 0.
Adjust the calibration by pressing the left or right side of the
value button until the desired value is reached, then press the
select button and an asterisk will appear, showing that the value
is saved. Continue to the next color, or press the big green go
button to get back to “Ready.”
Our toners are adjusted to produce excellent results with
C = 0
M = 0
Y = 0
K = -2
On gold and silver metals..
For white metals and white plastics we prefer
C = 0
M = 0
Y = +3
K = -4
Some 4500 and 4550 formatters cause a darker print than others.
If your sublimated images are consistently dark, adjust back the
K = -3 or –4.
